The purpose of the workshop was to discuss a framework of integrating nutrition support into programming for vulnerable children. All possible areas for nutrition support integrating were under consideration including, but not limited to centres/facilities, provision of food parcels, use of grants to purchase food, home gardens, home visits and leveraging of resources. Participants included representatives from the Departments of Social Development, Health, Agriculture and Basic Education, Child Welfare, various NGOs funded by USAID to share their programmes and experiences.
The Tiger Brands Foundation presented an in-depth guide to Mobenzi Technology – the monitoring and evaluation tool used by the organisation to track the in-school breakfast feeding programme.
