Meqheleng Primary School in Ficksburg, Free State was adopted into the Foundation’s in-school programme during March 2015, following their win of the NSNP Best School Awards. Meqheleng Primary School was awarded with a kitchen and cooking equipment to the value of R450 000. The NSNP Awards recognises best practice in the implementation of the programme by districts and schools. Mr Tate Makgoe – MEC for Education in the Free State Legislature – expressed his gratitude towards the Foundation for adopting Meqheleng Primary School on the programme. The programme has since expanded to four additional schools in Ficksburg and one school in Botshabelo. There are currently 6 588 learners that benefit from the Tiger Brands Foundation in-school breakfast programme.
